Welcome to my personal website! I am an Associate Professor in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University. Previously, I was a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Boston University and a Research Assistant with the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project. I have been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, and the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation at the University of Warwick.
My interests lie broadly in the fields of comparative political economy, business-government relations, and corporate social responsibility. My dissertation examined the regulation of corporate non-financial reporting, showing how the growth of voluntary standards has led to the development of new public policy in the European Union. More recently, I have become interested in the public discourse around consumer data protection.
I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University in 2017, an M.Sc. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2008, and a B.A. in History from Cornell University in 2003.
