Welcome to my personal website! I am an Associate Professor in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University. Previously, I was a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Boston University and a Research Assistant with the Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) project. I have been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, and the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation at the University of Warwick.
My research interests lie broadly in the fields of comparative political economy, business–government relations, and corporate social responsibility. I recently co-edited the Elgar Encyclopedia of Business and Government with Graham K. Wilson. My current research examines corporate sustainability reporting, including the relationship between voluntary and mandatory disclosure regimes and the recent ESG and sustainability backlash.
I received a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University in 2017, an M.Sc. in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2008, and a B.A. in History from Cornell University in 2003.
